Malvern Star Oppy steers Will Clarke to Victory

Genesys rider Will Clark secured the Mersey Valley Tour Stage 3 WIN blitzing the rest of the field and finishing with time to spare. The Genesys team has had a strong start to the domestic season with 3 podium finishes in 3 stages.

The Mersey Valley Tour is the opening event of Cycling Australia’s 2010 National Road Series. The 230km 3 stage race was competed over two days in Tasmania’s picturesque Mercer Valley.

In the third stage Clarke rode to his strength out-sprinting his rivals to secure a fantastic victory, after he finished second in the stage one time trial. Clarks’s team mate Nathan Earl crossed the line in third place securing the team two podium positions in stage 3 alone.

The Oppy C7’s helped the boys surge through the field to achieve a 2nd in Stage 1 (Will Clarke), 3rd in stage 2 (Nathan Earle) and the two podium finishes – 1st and 3rd in Stage 3.

It’s a great start to the season and a sign of things to come, keep up the good work you legends!
