02 Aug Malvern Star Recall
Sheppard Cycles product recall
Please note the following details regarding an Australia-wide product recall from Sheppard Cycles Australia Pty Ltd (SCA).
Models affected:
The recall covers the following Avanti and Malvern Star Sold from 1st July 2020 – 1st Aug 2024, which had NUTT branded brakes fitted per below image.
Why the product is recalled: The recall is due the fact the (‘NUTT’ branded) brakes require frequent servicing to perform at their optimum. Failure to service these brakes may result in a loss of braking power, which could lead to a loss of control of the bicycle and, therefore, potential injury.
Hazard: A failure to regularly maintain the NUTT brakes on the above models may result in insufficient braking performance, which could lead to an accident, causing serious injury.
What to do: Consumers with the recalled models should stop riding their bicycles immediately and contact Sheppard Cycles Australia Pty Ltd via phone on 1300 883 305 to arrange for replacement brakes of another brand to be fitted.
Contact details: Consumers should contact Sheppard Cycles Australia Pty Ltd on phone: 1300 883 305 (between the hours of 9am-5pm Mon-Fri), or via email: rework@sheppardcycles.com
